I’m Carla J Taylor BA(Hons), MBA(Int), MComm. Writer, problem-solver, stickler for details.

My friends call me CARCOURA (kahCOOrah)

I’m a mentor, consultant, writer, copy-editor, crafter, and dog-whisperer (actually, I’m more of a dog-yeller… my furbabies have selective hearing).

The experience I draw on was hard earned across 7 different industries and 3 decades. From this, my highlights have been:

  • helping to create a niche market for high-quality cafes and complementary retail in the healthcare sector;
  • turning a single-site family business into a national brand providing jobs to more than 5,000 Australians;
  • writing 50+ government tenders, with a 94% success rate;
  • establishing a bilateral chamber of commerce & industry, engaging politicians, diplomats and business people from both countries and others of relevance;
  • organising the first trade mission from Australia to Lebanon, self-funded, with 36 Australian companies represented;
  • setting up a Tier-2 law firm in Melbourne’s CBD.

I’m passionate about:

  • making the most of every day;
  • using my experience to help others achieve their goals in business and in life; and
  • doing my bit to improve the world we live in.

My pet-peeves are:

  • drivers who don’t indicate;
  • arrogance of any kind (but especially in business-people who undermine their own integrity through a lack of attention to detail);
  • bad spelling, bad grammar, and bad attitude.
